Rockstar Drops the GTA 6 Launch Trailer Ahead of Its November 19 Release

Rockstar has released the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), dated October 15, with new music from Justice. The game remains scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to Rockstar's official game page. You can watch the video on Rockstar's dedicated launch-trailer page.

The appeal is a quick return to Jason and Lucia's story. Anyone looking for a detailed demonstration of how the game plays should temper their expectations for this particular video.

A Short, Cinematic Look at the Story

ComicBook's October 15 report puts the runtime at one minute and 30 seconds and describes a cinematic trailer with little gameplay footage. It also reports that Rockstar captured the entire trailer on PS5 and released new key art alongside it. The outlet's assessment is that the new footage contains no particularly notable reveals.

Rockstar's official synopsis provides the setup: an easy score goes wrong, pulling Jason and Lucia into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida. Their survival depends on relying on each other.

That premise gives the trailer a clear purpose: sell the relationship and the stakes. A short story preview can do that without explaining mission structure or giving players a sustained look at the controls.

Justice's Music Is Part of the Announcement

There is a concrete music reveal here. Rockstar's trailer page identifies the featured track as “Flower in a Hurricane”, from Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar also credits Justice as the game's original score composers.

That credit makes the duo's involvement broader than a single trailer song. It connects this promotional release to the music being created for the game itself, giving soundtrack fans something specific to follow alongside the story footage.

November 19 Includes Xbox Series S

The platform list deserves its full name. Rockstar lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox's own GTA 6 page independently lists both Xbox consoles with the November 19, 2026 release date. Series S owners are included in that announcement.

The useful distinction for viewers is between where the footage was captured and where the game is scheduled to launch. The reported PS5 capture does not change the Xbox release listing. Treat this trailer as a compact story-and-music preview; it offers a reason to revisit GTA 6's world while leaving the hands-on judgment for play.
